Larry Young (born March 12 1930 in Louisville Kentucky) is an American jazz organist.
Young began playing the piano at the age of six and the organ at the age of 14. He played in local bands in Louisville before moving to New York City in 1955. There he played with Jackie McLean Art Blakey and Miles Davis. In 1957 he joined John Coltrane’s quartet playing on the album Blue Train. In the early 1960s he also played with Ornette Coleman and Eric Dolphy.
