Seconds grew up in Sacramento California. He started playing music while attending high school and formed the punk rock band 7 Seconds in 1980 with his brother Steve. The band achieved considerable success and toured extensively throughout their career.
Since disbanding 7 Seconds in 1995 Seconds has recorded a number of solo albums and continues to tour extensively. He is also a member of the bands The Gorilla Biscuits and The Dead Kennedys.
